RCB once again gifted it to the opposition, nothing to cheer for Virat's boys

The match no.20 of Ipl 2019 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals.

Both the teams had lost their previous match but remain unchanged.

Delhi won the toss and opted to ball first.

Parthiv and Kohli opened the attack for RCB and Ishant Sharma for DC.

Parthiv smashed a boundary on the 5th ball of the innings but gave his wicket in the 2nd over to Chris Morris. [9 runs 9 balls 1-4s]

ABD and Virat to lead the scoreboard for RCB.

RCB, 18 for 1 after 3 overs.

ABD smashed a six on Chris Morris in the 4th over and a boundary on Ishant Sharma in the 5th over to release the pressure.

But ABD lost his wicket to Kagiso Rabada on the last ball of powerplay in order to hit a six. [17 runs 16 balls 1-4s 1-6s]

RCB, 40-2 at the end of six.

Story of middle overs (7-15) :

Stoinis and Kohli rotated the scoreboard slowly and led the total to 53-2 after 9 overs.

Stoinis smashed a big six on the first ball of Lamichhane in the 10th over but lost his wicket to Axar patel on the 4th ball of 11th over. [15 runs 17 balls 1-6s]

RCB, 72-3 after 12 overs.

Moeen smashed three beautiful sixes to Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma & Lamichhane on the first ball of 13th, 14th and 15th over but then lost his wicket on the 3rd ball of 15th over. [32 runs 18 balls 1-4s 3-6s]

RCB, 108-4 after 15 overs.

Story of the last five of first innings (16-20) :

Akshdeep Nath smashed two boundaries, one each in the 16th and 17th over and then Virat sent the ball twice into the stands in the 17th over.

RCB, 133-4 after 17 overs.

Kagiso Rabada striked again for DC taking 3 wickets in the 18th over.
1st ball - Virat, 3rd ball - Akshdeep, 6th ball - Negi

RCB, 138-7 after 18 overs.

RCB ended up its innings with singles in the last two overs by summing up the total to 149-8 in 20 overs.

DC needed 150 to win.

Prithvi and Dhawan to start for DC and Southee for RCB.

RCB started well with the ball and sent Dhawan back to the pavilion in the very first over.

Parthiv dropped the catch of S Iyer on the last ball of 1st over and lost the chance to get two from the 1st over.

Prithvi smashed five consecutive boundaries on the first five balls of the 3rd over with one leg byes and again one on the free hit ball of the 5th over.

S iyer also hit a boundary in the 5th over and then a six in the 6th over.

DC, 53-2 after the end of powerplay.

Story of the mid-overs (7-15) :

S Iyer smashed a boundary each in the 7th & 8th over on Negi and Siraj respectively.

Negi gave RCB something to cheer by sending Prithvi Shaw back to the pavilion in the 9th over.

S Iyer continued to hit boundaries and smashed one each in the 9th and 10th over.

DC, 80-2 after 10 over.

Can RCB make it from here ?

Ingram smashed a six and a boundary on Negi in the 11th over and added 14 runs to the team's total.

Ingram and Iyer smashed a boundary each in the 13th over.

But, Moeen gave a break through on the first ball of 14th over with the wicket of Ingram.

S Iyer completed his half century in the 14th over and then smashed a boundary in the 15th over.

27 needed of last 5.

Story of the last 5 (16-20) :

Pant smashed boundaries on the first ball of 16th over and on the third ball of 17th over.

Now, just a formality left for Delhi.

Saini took the wicket of Iyer and Morris in the end but that was not going to matter anyway for any of the team as just 5 was needed now.

Pant also thrown his wicket with 3 runs still left to be scored.

DC lost 3 wickets within 3 runs.

However, in the end DC won it with 4 wickets.

RCB lost 6 out of 6 with zero points in the points table.
