Who is the major missing in India's CWC squad 2019 ?



BCCI came up with various surprise announcements on 15th April (Monday) while declaring the 15 man squad for the World cup 2019 which is going to be held in England.



The top order of India remained the same as expected with Rohit, Shikhar and Kohli, however KL Rahul got the seat booked as the reserve opener. Rahul's ability to bat in the middle order and his current form in IPL proved to be enough for the selectors to take the decision.


The inclusion of Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar in the squad was the big news there as the no.4 slot is still a matter of big controversy before the world cup as none of the batsman has been able to reserve the seat with their performance.

Major drops :

However, the young hitting icon of India, Rishabh Pant, has been overlooked by the BCCI as the second wicket keeper inspite of Pant being the first choice wicket keeper in Tests for India and to the surprise Dinesh Karthik has been given the preference over Rishabh Pant despite of Karthik missing the home series against Australia.

One more surprising thing over there was the exclusion of Ambati Rayadu from the 15-man squad despite of him being a continuous performer for India except the last few matches.

No left arm pacer in the squad :

The pace balling department has once again been given to the successful trio of Bumrah, Bhubneshwar and Shami with no Khaleel Ahmed in the squad. India has worked hard on Khaleel to establish him as a world class pacer but the boy has been unable to influence the selelctors.

Jadeja's comeback in the spin department :

The spin department of India has once again been given to the trustworthy pair of Chahal and Kuldeep. However, Jadeja's comeback would strengthen the bench as his presence can provide the additional depth in the batting and fielding as well.

All-rounders in the team :

Hardik Pandya and Kedar Jadhav became able to reserve their seats for the flight to England with their outstanding match winning knocks in the last few matches played by team India. Vijay Shankar will also be there on the bench as a pace balling all-rounder as the conditions may suit him on the fast pitches of England. 

MS Dhoni in the squad :

Putting up the finger on every critics' mouth, BCCI has once again selected MSD fot the big contest as his simple presence can get the things in favour of India.

Major criticism of the squad : 

Pant's exclusion has been the biggest controversy as the power hitter has influenced many with his batting skills. Michael Vaughan too batted for Pant and questioned over his exclusion. He even said that India will loose the chances of scoring big without Rishabh Pant.

      Yup...they two were the bloodline of 2011 world cup.
      But their current dismal form didn't allow the selectors to take the decision in their favour.

Finally, Pant and Rayadu got the seats to World Cup as reserves

The youth sensational power hitter wicket keeping batsman Rishabh Pant , the veteran middle order batsman Ambati Rayadu , and the speedster Navdeep Saini are kept as India's standbyes for the ICC World Cup 2019 which is going to start in the UK on May 30, as announced by BCCI on Wednesday, 17th April. "Just like ICC Champions Trophy, we have three standbys. Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayadu are the first and second standbys while Saini is the bowler in the list. So if anyone gets injured, as per requirement one of the three will be going," a senior BCCI official told PTI on Wednesday.
